History of the San Diego County Alumnae Chapter
On June 9, 1944, a group of resident SAI alumnae was chartered as the "San Diego Alumnae Chapter." In 1992, reflecting San Diego population shifts in growth and slight changes in chapter procedures, the name was changed to the San Diego County Alumnae Chapter. The alumnae chapter has always remained close with the local San Diego State chapter of Iota Delta, sharing Founders' Day celebrations, public musicales and other occasions. This strong relationship has led to numerous Province Alumnae Chapter Achievement Awards, and in 1956, the National Alumnae Chapter Achievement Award.
